Sarah Lister

Clinical Psychologist

BA(Psych/Psychophys), Hons (Psych), MClinPsych, MACPA

Sarah has experience providing both short term and longer term treatment for people experiencing a range of issues and challenges. She provides a safe place for working through difficult events or periods of growth, or simply deciding what direction to take next. 

Sarah has particular interests in grief, trauma, mood disorders, and adjustment disorders. She sees individuals from age 16 right through to late adulthood and particularly enjoys seeing older adults. Her treatment approaches encourage self compassion, which allows healthy growth without shame.

Her main therapeutic frameworks are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Suzanne

Suzanne Williams

Clinical Psychologist

B.A, Bsci(Hons), D.psych(clini), MAPS

Suzanne also has an interest in the assessment and treatment of anxiety and depression, adjustment issues, as well as a special interest in trauma work. She provides treatment within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, as well as Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma. 

Her treatment approaches not only aim to help individuals to develop effective strategies to cope with a range of life’s challenges, but to also assist them to create a rich, valued, and meaningful life despite those challenges.

As part of her treatment approach Suzanne endeavours to create a safe therapeutic relationship in which individuals feel respected and heard.

Byron de Ridder

Byron is a warm clinician who uses a person-centred and strengths-based approach to therapy. Working collaboratively with his clients, he strives to create an accepting, non-judgemental space for clients to safely explore their concerns. He aims to tailor each treatment plan to the unique needs of each client.  

Byron uses several evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Solution Focussed Brief Therapy. Byron’s special interests include anxiety, depression, OCD, men’s mental health, relationship issues, addiction, and adolescent issues.

Nuwan Leitan

Clinical Psychologist

In addition to working at Wheelers Hill Psychology, Nuwan works in a public mental health setting providing assessment and treatment for individuals with mental health disorders.
 
Nuwan works primarily with adult clients presenting with a wide range of psychological issues including; anxiety, PTSD/cPTSD/trauma, borderline personality disorder, depression, anger, phobias, mania, OCD, self-esteem issues and grief.
 
He utilises a variety of therapeutic approaches including Intensive Short Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Schema Therapy, according to individual clients’ needs.

Eloise Miles

Eloise is passionate about person-centred, collaborative therapy and tailors therapy to suit clients’ individual needs and strengths. She understands that seeking psychological support can be unnerving and overwhelming, so she is committed to creating a warm, compassionate, and safe environment to facilitate meaningful change. Eloise is also committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming therapy.

Eloise draws upon various evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also likes to incorporate Schema Therapy and Mindfulness to enhance self-awareness. Eloise works with adolescents, adults, and older adults. She has a particular interest in trauma, personality disorders, substance-related issues, anxiety, and body image/self-esteem concerns.

We regularly see clients via telehealth (online appointments). This is a safe, secure, and convenient way to either begin your counselling journey or continue seeing your regular practitioner.
